There’s a more open social environment here, and lot more educational opportunities, more interaction with and mentorship from faculty and staff. Students appreciate the kinds of informal interactions with the faculty which provides a supportive environment.

These students gain tremendously from the chance to experience different culture and learn from our experts, and connect with global leaders in industry, research, and activism.

Analysis

The global pandemic has touched every industry differently. For university like TRU, it meant finding ways to be more flexible than ever whereby to continue with the mandate of providing education to all those who seek it.

Additionally, new and innovative ways of providing education were implemented and sharing the resources to help communities, whether through donating equipment to hospitals or developing knowledge through research projects.

During this uncertain time, the most “pessimistic” scenario, that was projected is that Canadian universities have seen enrolment decreases of 20.1 per cent in domestic students and 21.8 per cent in international students, creating a $2.5 billion revenue loss. Which included universities like TRU, however the leadership and the faculty at TRU demonstrated Resilience by continuing to provide the best to students located locally in Canada and International Students.
